About this species
The Celebes Purple Giant is a large and unusual centipede from Sulawesi, Indonesia. Its exact species has not yet been confirmed, but its unique coloration makes it easy to recognize. It has a deep purple body, almost black legs, and a pair of bright red antennae. Adults can exceed 20 cm.
Like most tropical Asian centipedes, it is an active predator that hunts insects. Its care is fairly straightforward for an experienced keeper, warm temperatures and high humidity like most Asian centipedes.
