About this species
The Celebes Rainbow centipede is one of the most colorful Indonesian Scolopendra. It stands out for its bright blue and red legs, which give its dark body a beautiful appearance.
Adults can reach around 15 cm. Their body is red-orange, with legs that start red at the base and become blue toward the tips. This combination of colors gives the centipede its “Rainbow” name.
Like other tropical Scolopendra, it is a predatory centipede that burrows and feeds on insects and other small invertebrates.
Care follows the usual tropical Asian centipede setup. It requires stable warmth, humid conditions, and slightly moist substrate for burrowing or suitable hiding places. Appropriately sized crickets and roaches are suitable foods.
