About this species

The Millipede Centipede is one of the strangest and rarest centipedes in the world. It has a heavily armored black body with red or yellow bands. Its millipede like body shape and slow movement make it look more like a millipede than a normal centipede.

Unlike most centipedes, it is very slow and not aggressive. When disturbed, it curls onto its side just like a millipede instead of immediately attacking.

Very little is known about its life in the wild. Scientists once suspected that it might eat plant material, but it was later observed hunting and eating millipedes.
