About this species

The Black Angel piceoflava is a large, colorful, and extremely rare centipede from Indonesia. Its exact taxonomic status is still uncertain.

Adults usually reach around 20 cm, with some individuals growing larger. The Black Angel form has a dark body covered with orange or yellow bands, paired with completely black legs.

They live in warm, humid tropical forests and actively hunt insects and other small animals.

Its care is similar to that of other tropical Scolopendra, requiring warm temperatures and high humidity. Compared with regular piceoflava, the Black Angel is generally slower and less aggressive.
